UWL Exchange Students From La Crosse, U.S (Part 1)
As the sister city of Luoyang, La Crosse, Wisconsin, US has always had a good relationship with Luoyang. Since 2002, 34 English teachers from Luoyang No. 2 Foreign Language School have been there as visiting scholars to teach Chinese language or have courses in the university.
From May 25th, 14 students and 2 teachers from UWL (University of Wisconsin-La Crosse) started their 3-week exchange program in Luoyang No.2 Foreign Language School. They will participate in some school activities, communicate with Chinese students and visit famous sites in and around the city. During this period of time, the American students will live in host families so that they can experience authentic Chinese family culture and language environment.
On the day of arrival, the 16 guests were warmly welcomed. All the host families were waiting at the school as well. After briefing the following schedule, the school also gave some safety guidance in China. In the end, the American students went to their new homes with new family members.
On the next morning, the American students had a tour around the campus. On the following Dragon Boat Festival, they experienced the traditions with host families including eating dumplings and zongzi and visiting historical sites.
